In this episode, we'll talk about what I mean with "source", how that relates to singing, artist identity, your creative work, career and artist life. You'll learn why connecting to your source matters, and how you can get started. You’ll also find out why I sometimes spell it with a capital S: Source 😊
This episode takes us many places, including: vocal training, creativity, spirituality and energy work and is filled with some great takeaways!
I also want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the messages and posts that you have been posting about the podcast on your social media and have been tagging me & the podcast. I love it and it means the world to me ❤️
I'm also very happy about all the questions that have been coming in already after the first episode, so keep them coming! I actually got an idea when it comes to questions: in some future episodes, I could actually dedicate some of the episodes to Q and A’s and answer your questions. That would be super exciting for me because that way we really get this conversation going and that is actually one of the intentions I had for this podcast.
So after you’ve listened to this episode, I would love to hear from you! What does “source” mean to you and how do you define it? Have you ever felt out of alignment and what helps you reconnect and realign?
Takeaways from this episode:
Unlearning and developing awareness of your habits are central in the process of learning. Instead of trying to work on “getting a thing right”, try and figure out what your habits are, and develop an awareness of different ways of approaching the same problem.
There is no box! Don’t get stuck in looking for answers or trying to make your art or your artist life happen within the limits of a box.
There’s more to vocal artistry than vocal technique, and true vocal freedom comes from an alignment of voice, body, mind, spirit and energy.
Find authentic expression as an artist by aligning your whole self: your values, your background story, style, personal quirks together with your unique skills as an artist.
Being anchored in your values helps you make aligned decisions in your artist career, instead of starting to follow paths that are meant for others, or trying to keep up with things you think you should do, be or have in order to be a successful, accepted and fulfilled artist.
Nurture your creative Self and keep connecting to your purpose and your why. Take care of the person behind the artist just as much as you take care of developing your skills.
A spiritual practice helps you establish a personal connection with the source of your creativity, explore and find meaning in your work that reaches deeper than the material outcomes and rewards.
You are an energetic being, part of a larger energy field. Your voice, performance, and your ability to stay present and achieve flow state in your creative practice & work, as well as the quality of your artist life, is directly affected by the state of your energy field.
Aligning with your Source will help you discover your Soul’s purpose and help you make sense of what experiences your Soul is here to seek.
If you need help with any of this, I hope you take up on my offer to book a free intro artist coaching session. These free intro artist coaching sessions will be available through the month of May. If you’re looking for support as a singer and vocal artist, my program Sing From The Source is starting again in October - and there will be an amazing early-bird offer coming very soon!
Before I go, just one more thing: if you like this podcast, tell your friends about it! Your support means the world to me and will help me keep creating amazing content for you. ❤️
XO Katja
