As I was envisioning this new season for the Create From The Source podcast, I knew that I wanted to bring in some amazing people that I have met in real life and online over the years to have conversations with about some really important topics that concern all of us creatives - conversations about what a creative life looks like when it is aligned and authentic and sustainable and how you can get there.
We all get there through trial and error and we can learn so much from each other. So I'm so excited to bring all these conversations to you in this new podcast season. You'll hear from artists and creatives and from specialists who work in fields that support artists.
In this episode, I have a conversation with the wonderful Katie Crooks, a.k.a The Artist's Hypnotherapist, about how hypnotherapy can help you release limiting patterns in your creative life.
You'll hear about Katie's own creative journey, her work as a hypnotherapist for artists and change makers, learn how subconscious programming can limit you from expressing yourself authentically, and how hypnotherapy can help you release these blocks.
Takeaways from this episode:
Your soul knows how it wants to express itself, but you've got to decondition yourself of all the subconscious programming so that you can access your soul's truth instead of holding on to baggage that someone else's truth.
Beliefs can be changed because they're not your truth, and you can deprogram from blueprints and belief systems that were never yours.
The best way to do affirmations is to go into hypnosis, so that those statements can go into your subconscious more easier, and your brain can rewire much faster.
If you're experiencing a fear response or anxiety, for example when you're about to perform, sit with it and be with the feelings or reframe your anxious thoughts to make sure you're not making a story out of them.
Be okay with ugly and get messy. The ego mind wants us to sound pleasing, but our source knows how we are meant to sound and create and release our self expression from our body.
I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I enjoyed having this conversation with Katie! Follow her on Instagram and check out her website to find out more about her coaching programs, including her new program The Abundant Artist.
Much love,
Katja
