Leaking creative energy often leads to difficulties in being fully focused & present in your creative work, and in the worst case these energy drains can even lead to burnout.
In this episode, we’ll discuss how you might be leaking creative energy, why it’s important to become really good at managing distractions and leaks that drain your creative energy. I’ll also share some insights I had on creative energy after examining a big creative block in which I experienced release earlier this year.
Takeaways from this episode:
Creative blocks are completely normal, we all can experience them and move through them.
Find out what nourishes you, restores your energy, and fills your own cup, and do more of that. Nobody can give and create on an empty cup!
You can’t create in a vacuum. Your life experiences are input for your creative work, so don’t be afraid of them.
You can only learn about your own boundaries in retrospective, so there’s no point in trying to figure out the perfect circumstances in advance.
Become really good at noticing what drains you and what leaks your energy as it’s happening, and then take an active role in fixing these leaks. Become an active participant in shifting your circumstances instead of feeling like a victim of them.
Some themes will come back until you are ready to shift them. So start noticing patterns in your energy drains - they will point you toward your personal themes.
In the moment you notice your personal theme, and work through it, you hold the keys to taking the next quantum leap in your life.
Coaching can help you see what mindset, habits and patterns are leading to you experience creative energy drains and blocks, and give you the tools to shift it.
Start asking yourself: “What do I need to operate at my best?” and learn to take care of your own needs.
Notice in yourself when you’re gravitating towards masculine or feminine energy. Becoming aware of how these energies work in your own life is the first step toward creating balance.
